Bourousis is the MVP once more

With his 26 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and an evaluation number of 40 (!), in Laboral Kutxa’s victory against Andorra, Giannis Bourousis was named MVP of the Week in Liga Endesa for the fifth time this season. Actually, of the first half of the season.

What the Greek center does is not only outstanding, but unheard of. Literally. His accomplishment makes him the first player ever to win the Weekly MVP award so many times in only the first round of the Regular Season. Who did Bourousis surpassed?

Not someone that important. Only Arvydas Sabonis, Oscar Schmidt, Darryl Middleton, Tanoka Beard and Curtis Borchardt. Yes we are joking. Bourousis broke the record that some international basketball legends had in the Spanish Championship. Quite an amazing feat, isn’t it?

Bourousis also “wrote” his personal best in points scored (26, while his previous one was 24 vs Real Madrid) and Ranking (surpassing the 37 evaluation points he had gathered against Real Madrid).

“I am happy because we won for the 7th consecutive time in the league.” Bourousis said. “It was important to keep our good performances connected and stay at a good level, after the tough match that we won against CSKA Moscow in Euroleague”.

But for the 32 year old center, the best are yet to come. “This have to go on, since we have big cames in the Copa Del Rey and before it. I hope we keep working hard in order to continue winning in Spain and Euroleague”
