Seeming safe with the separation over 20 points to start the fourth quarter, FC Barcelona narrowly held on to defeat Joventut Badalona, 93-86, in Pavello Olimpic on Sunday.
Breaking a tie in fifth place, Barca went up to 15-10 in Spain’s Liga Endesa Regular Season. Kevin Punter and Jabari Parker shared a team-high 14 points, while Tomas Satoransky and Joel Parra threw in 11 points each. Nicolas Laprovittola, Chimezie Metu, Juan Nunez, and Jan Vesely were sidelined.
Falling short of an epic comeback, Ante Tomic and Sam Dekker went for 17 points, and Adam Hanga posted a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double. Veteran guard Pau Ribas was limited to four minutes against his former team due to a nose injury.
Earlier, Real Madrid strolled to a home win, 88-70, against Surne Bilbao and retained a one-game distance from La Laguna Tenerife at the top of the ACB table. Serge Ibaka tallied 7/9 field goals in a game-high 19 points, a new personal best for the 2024-25 campaign. Injuries kept Bruno Fernando and Mario Hezonja out of the Round 25 contest.
Fellow Turkish Airlines EuroLeague outfit, Baskonia, fell to 12-13 and outside the playoff picture after a loss, 88-82 to Rio Breogan.
