Sergio De Larrea, considered one of the top European prospects for the 2025 NBA Draft, has decided to withdraw his name from consideration and remain with Valencia Basket.
As announced by the 2024–25 EuroCup semifinalists, the 19-year-old guard will continue with the club under a revised financial agreement, which includes improved terms. However, the length of the contract remains unchanged, running through the end of the 2027–28 season.
De Larrea will thus continue his development under the guidance of veteran coach Pedro Martínez in his homeland.
“Valencia Basket Club would like to thank Sergio De Larrea for his initiative in deciding not to declare for this summer’s NBA Draft despite having a chance of being selected, thus reaffirming his commitment to continue his development as a player while helping our project grow. We also appreciate his dedication to defending our colors during the 2025–26 season, when we will begin competing at the Roig Arena,” the club announced.
This season, De Larrea made 15 EuroCup appearances, averaging 4.8 points, 2.8 assists, and 1.9 rebounds. In 17 ACB games, he posted 6.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.
