Barcelona felt victim of an early surprise in the first quarterfinal of the Copa Del Rey. The fighting spirit of Bilbao stunned the Catalans showing them the exit door of the competition.
Joan Creus, the GM of Barcelona didn’t hide his disappointment while speaking to the Spanish media after the game. “This was a major defeat of us. Perhaps the worst in recent years. We had never been eliminated from the first round in the Copa Del Rey. We are deeply saddened from bot being able to move ahead”, said Creus.
When asked if this results affects the status of Xavi Pascual in the club, he simply commented on how new everyone in Barcelona is in this kind of situation. “We have not faced something like that in the last six or seven years. Now we have to focus on Euroleague at once”.
