Sevilla returned to victories in ACB after the break for the Copa Del Rey, downing Obradoiro 67 – 58. That was the seventh victory for coach Luis Casimiro and his players, who got some important distance from the “danger zone” of the bottom two spots in the standings.
While defense was a primary weapon for Sevilla in this match, one specific player gave a big offensive boost, helping his team grab that precious victory. We are talking about Scott Bamforth who scored 20 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and also dished 3 assists to gather 24 points in the evaluation system. The American guard topped all other performances by players of winning teams , thus being named the MVP of the Day in Liga Endesa.
This is not the first time that New Mexico born guard stands above all other players in ACB during a Week’s games. On 17th of May, 2014, his 24 points and 8 rebounds had helped Sevilla defeat Joventut Badalona 83 – 81, earning him MVP honors
