With his 34 points against Andorra, Jonathan Tabu did more than simply lead Fuenlabrada to its third consecutive victory in Liga Endesa. The Belgian player also set a new record for most points scored in a single game during the current season.
The Belgian player was practically unstoppable, finishing the match with 7/12 from downtown while also dishing 6 assists to his teammates. Thanks to his game, Fuenlabrada keeps its course towards the playoffs steady, since the team is now sixth in the Liga Endesa standings.
With his latest show, Tabu surpassed his teammates in Fuenlabrada, Marko Popovic as also Nicolas Richotti and Scott Wood. All three of them have scored 33 points in a game, which was the previous record before Tabu’s blazing performance on Saturday.
And there’s more. The 30-year old combo guard of Fuenlabrada also broke the record of Eric Struelens for most points scored by a Belgian player in a single Liga Endesa game. When he was playing for Real Madrid, Struelens had scored 26 points in match (91-76) against Caja Cantabria on October 29th, 1998.
