The barbers of Seville and Doncic saving Real

By Eurohoops team/ info@eurohoops.net

Spanish championship once again treated us with some surprises this week, the number of which could have easily been larger. Sevilla is probably the team that got the biggest win, by showcasing sublime basketball on the road versus the second team in the standings.

Coach Casimiro’s players smelled blood against Valencia (26-4) accomplishing one more impressive victory, like Tenerife also did vs Laboral Kutxa. By doing the right things in overtime and finding a savior in the face of Luka Doncic (who provided rebounding and the basket that locked the win for his team), Real Madrid (21-5) returned to the path of victories against Murcia (12-14) and now has just a one win distance from second Valencia. Fotis Katsikaris’ team made an impressive comeback in the fourth quarter coming back from a 17-point deficit, forced the extra time with a big downtown buckets by veteran Carlos Cabezas, but lacked the needed endurance in the last minutes to complete what it started.

Meanwhile, first in standings Barcelona (24-2) moved even further away from Valencia, easily defeating Manresa (8-18), with five players scoring in double-digits.
