With an unanimous vote by players, coaches, media and fans, Juancho Hernangomez, of Estudiantes, was voted as best young player in of the 2015-2016 season in Liga Endesa. He succeeded Dani Diez. who was the award last year as a player of San Sebastian.
Hernangomez Estudiantes has scored 9.75 points and grabbed 5.5 rebounds, per game for an average of 12.6 in the evaluation system. More than any other of his teammates.
“I am proud, overjoyed and incredibly grateful to all who voted for me”, said the forward of Estudiantes about his award. “This honor means that the job is well done. I dedicate the award to all those who have supported me. Not only in this year but in my long-term path. It goes to all my family, my coaches and everyone who endured me every day. Sometimes it’s not… for all of them”.
Luka Doncic of Real Madrid was second in the related voting with 75 points, against Hernangomez’s 100. Alberto Diaz, of Unicaja Malaga, was third, Santiago Yusta, of Obradoiro, was fourth and Ludde Hakanson who plays in Sevilla on loan from Barcelona, finished fifth.
