Real Madrid remained at the top of the standings in the Spanish league after beating Valencia 85 – 71 for the 18th Gameday of the championship. The Blancos were down 38 – 45 at the halftime break but came back in the second half to ultimately win easily.

During the post-game flash interview, Valencia head coach Pedro Martinez expressed his displeasure with the arbitration of the match.

“We didn’t feel very comfortable in the second half. We didn’t perform well. Furthermore during the first half there was an enormous pressure that was put on the referees with them (Real Madrid) protesting in every play.  It’s something that we couldn’t control and the referees noticed that,” he said in front of the cameras. “But what we can do is control our game, playing better than what we did in the second half.”

Real Madrid head coach Pablo Laso was then ask to comment on Martinez’s quotes. “I don’t want to talk about the arbitration. Numbers speak for themselves. I didn’t get any feeling that my bench was protesting more than it should had.”
