For the third time in the history of the competition, the city of Las Palmas in Gran Canaria will host a Copa Del Rey tournament, as it was officially announced by ACB.
Apart from the 2018 edition of the tournament, the capital of the island will also be the ground where the 2017 Supercup will be held. This will give a chance for Gran Canaria team to defend their title in front of their home crowd.
The Copa Del Rey was previously organized in Gran Canaria in 1990 when CAI Zaragoza won the title by beating Joventut Badalona 76 – 69 in the Final and in 2015 with Real Madrid defeating the hosts 85 – 81.
