Despite a good start for Barcelona and a 29-18 lead at the 15th minute, the rest of the game was close from wire to wire with Murcia entering the last two minutes leading by one (65-64). The game was decided in the free throws line with both teams fouling in order to stop the clock and Petteri Koponen making four out of four (70-67) with 15 seconds left.
In the remaining time Murcia cut the lead of Barcelona to one (71-70), Alexander Vezenkov made it again a three points game thanks to two made free throws (74-71) and with four seconds of the clock Facundo Campazzo failed the make a three and send the game to overtime.
Vitor Faverani with 18 points and 8 rebounds was the best of the winners against his former team, while Campazzo had one more big game for Murcia with 20 points and 4 assists.
Barca with a 15-6 record is now tied with Real Madrid in the place of the standings, while Murcia is left at 7-15.
