Pierre Oriola was the key player for the winners with 14 points and 7 rebounds on the way to an easy 76-58 win. Nothing clicked for the guests who got 13 points and 11 rebounds by Ante Tomic, but collapsed in the final period after a sloppy game. Juan Carlos Navarro was missing, but that’s not an excuse.
The only thing that will be remembered from Barca is the dunk of Moussa Diagne which broke the backboard.
After this result Valencia is tied on the top spot of the Liga Endesa standings with Real Madrid (20-7), while Barcelona is fifth at 18-8, behind Iberostar Tenerife and Baskonia (19-7), which also secured mathematically their place in the playoffs.
Valencia can get a spot in next season’s EuroLeague by being the best team of Liga Endesa outside the A licenced trio of Madrid, Barca and Baskonia.
