Following defeat in Game 1 by Valencia, the Basques were with their backs against the wall. Not only were they looking to win but also have a convincing performance that would get them some strong momentum for the remainder of the series.
Ricky Ledo scored 24 points (17 of them in the first half), Adam Hanga added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists as Baskonia defeated Valencia 90 – 70 to tie the Spanish league semifinals 1-1.
The tricks of Romain Sato (18 points, 7 rebounds) and Antoine Diot (16 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds) weren’t enough to counter the superior firepower their opponents brought on the floor.
After a balanced first half (46-41), the hosts began assuming more and more control, yet the “Taronja” managed to stay relatively close, 66 – 57 at the end of the third.
Yet soon into the final period, Baskonia assumed a double-digit lead 70 – 57 and never looked back afterwards.
