Baskonia celebrated its first victory of the 2017-2018 Spanish League season by defeating Estudiantes 94 – 76.
It was a team effort for coach Pablo Prigioni’s team since five of them dropped double-digit figures. Ilmane Diop scored 15 and grabbed 8 rebounds, Janis Timma has 12 points and 6 boards while Jason Granger contributed 11 points and 6 assists.
Matt Janning and Vincent Poirier also added 10 points apiece for a Baskonia that manifested its full force in the second period when it outscored Estudiantes 29 – 10 to lead 49 – 29 at halftime.
Estudiantes couldn’t recover from such a deficit with only Sylven Landesberg (22 points) being of some threat to the hosts.
