Felipe Reyes won MVP of the Week honors in Spain and broke a certain record in the process.

This weekend Real Madrid captain Felipe Reyes became the oldest player to win Spanish League MVP of the Week in the history of ACB.

At 37 years, seven months and 20 days old, the international Spaniard broke the record previously held by former teammate Alex Mumbru who had won MVP while 37 years, five months and eight days old.

Reyes was decisive last Saturday in the victory his team’s road victory over Iberostar Tenerife with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal for 26 index rating.

“I’m very happy. I helped the team to win having played a great game in a difficult court like Tenerife,” said Felipe Reyes. “Without my teammates, it wouldn’t be possible. So I have to thank them for searching me for important moments”.

“I feel very happy because of the MVP of the Week and to entered the history as the oldest to achieve it”, he added.
