Real Madrid made it easy against Herbalife Gran Canaria at home with a 96 – 72 victory to conclude Liga Endesa Day 10. The Canaries now fell down to a 6-4 record while Pablo Laso’s men continue with just one lost game.
Rudy Fernandez (11 points) and Walter Tavares (8 points and 3 blocks) paced Real Madrid in the first half. Two late three-pointers made by Luka Doncic allowed the hosts their biggest advantage of the first half at the break (53 – 36).
Gran Canaria tried to reduce the deficit in the third quarter but Real Madrid always maintained a double-digit lead.
Doncic didn’t play a single minute in the fourth but he led all scorers with 16 points, 5 a, sists and 4 rebounds. Jaycee Carroll had 14 points and Trey Thompkins added 13 for Real.
Meanwhile, Unicaja suffered more than it was expected but finally got the home win over Joventut 86 – 74. Nemanja Nedovic had 16 points for Malaga.
Also, Barcelona defeated Zaragoza 99 – 86 on the road thanks to a great third quarter. Juan Carlos Navarro paced the winners with 15 points and 5 assists and Pierre Oriola contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Gary Neal’s scored 23 for the hosts.
Earlier in the day, Valencia needed an overtime to defeat Andorra at home while Baskonia also prevailed over Obradoiro in Vitoria.
