Last season few believed that Valencia could actually go all the way and win the Spanish League. But they did, by beating Real Madrid 3 – 1 in the Finals, even though they lacked homecourt advantage.
For Spanish swingman Fernando San Emeterio, the “Taronja” are quite able to make the repeat. “Of course we can win the ACB title again. .It’s difficult, but we’re going to try for it,” he said during an interview with Radio Marca.
The 33-year-old player was named MVP of Week 10 in Liga Endesa after a monster game of 35 points and 9 rebounds in Valencia’s victory over Andorra. This win improved his team’s record to 8-2 and kept them at the second place of the standings, tied with Barcelona.
“We always like to be placed as candidates for the title because it means that we’re doing things well. This season is a reaffirmation of last year and we want to continue and compete everyday so that we are considered candidates for the titles,” he added.
