Unicaja didn’t suffer to get the win in Joan Plaza’s 400th game in the competition. The Andalusians defeated Obradoiro at home 96 – 76 and now they are closer to a King’s Cup spot after improving to an 8-7 record.
The hosts took a double-digit advantage early in the game (21 – 11, 7′) and keep the differences the entire half (50 – 38 at the break). Unicaja made no difference in the second half and they enjoyed a comfortable ending.
Giorgi Shermadini led the winners in scoring with 16 points and he also added 5 rebounds. Adam Waczynski added 14 points while Jeff Brooks contributed with 12.
Alberto Corbacho had an amazing last quarter for Obradoiro and he ended with 21 points (7 three-pointers) and Artem Pustovyi finished with a double-double (12 p. 11 r.).
Also, San Pablo Burgos got a tough victory in Andorra (99 – 91) after being 19 points in front in the third quarter. The hosts reduced the difference to just three points (92 – 89, 38′) but they couldn’t complete the comeback.
John Jenkins paced the winners with 19 points and Deon Thompson contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Oliver Stevic’s double-double (12 p. 10 r.) and Jaime Fernandez (16p. 6 a.) weren’t enough.
