Unicaja Malaga wins fifth straight game in Spain

After a balanced first half (41-41), Unicaja Malaga stormed out of the locker rooms to ultimately beat San Pablo 85 – 78 on the road, and grab its fifth win in a row in the Spanish League.

Coach Joan Plaza’s players outscored their opponents 26 – 16 in the third period and retained control of the game until the final buzzer. This result improved their record to 11 – 7 and elevated them to the fourth spot in the standings.

James Augustine flirted with the double-double after scoring 14 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Nemanja Nedovic dropped 14 points and Dani Diez added 14 points as well plus 5 rebounds.

Julius Jenkins had 16 points and 5 assists while Sebas Saiz added 12 and 7 boards for the losing squad that is now 6 – 12.

In the other ACB match that took place today, Andorra took an impressive road win over Fuenlabrada 85 – 77 behind 22 points by Jaime Fernandez and 19 courtesy of Jaka Blazic.

Pako Cruz had 21 and Christian Eyenga 17 plus an enormous poster dunk over three of his opponents.
