Baskonia knocked down Barcelona 96-72 with ease at home on Day 19 of the Spanish ACB League.
The hosts were dominating in the first period. They kept Barca at 7 points in 10 minutes while they nailed 31 points. Rodrigue Beaubois was leading the game with 11 points in the first period. After the first half Baskonia was up by 28 points (58-30) and it was clear that this will be a one-sided game after all.
Beaubois finished the game with 22 points in only 16 minutes on the floor. He only had one miss from the field (7-8) adding 3 steals as well. Tornike Shengelia added 18 points while Johannes Voigtmann flirted with triple-double. He had 8 points, 10 boards and 7 assists.
Pierre Oriola’s double-double with 18 points and 11 boards didn’t help much Barcelona too much tonight. This was a third straight win for Baskonia as they climbed to a 12-8 record while Barcelona falls to 13-7.
Unicaja got the 78-67 win over Murcia despite still missing Nemanja Nedovic and Valencia prevailed over Real Betis by 36 points (103-67) with Erick Green leading all scorers with 19 points.
On Saturday Andorra upset Real Madrid.
