Baskonia and Unicaja closed game week 21 with easy victories in Zaragoza and Madrid, respectively.
The Vasques were up by 19 at the half (49 – 30) and didn’t suffer at all against Zaragoza Basket (98 – 74). Pedro Martinez’s men improved to a 14-7 record and now they are tied with Barcelona and Valencia in the second spot.
Marcelinho Huertas flirted with the double-double with 9 points and 11 assists while Toko Shengelia added 14 points and 9 boards. Gary Neal’s 20 points weren’t enough.
Unicaja dominated Estudiantes 72 – 57 in a bad game. The Andalusians had an awesome last quarter (25 – 15) that allowed them a comfortable ending.
Sasu Salin led the winners with 18 points and 5 dimes and Ray McCallum added 15 points for Unicaja. Omar Cook paced the home side with 9 points and 8 assists.
Over the weekend, Barcelona defeated Murcia in a boring game. Early today, Real Madrid easily beat San Pablo Burgos while Valencia struggled in Gran Canaria.
