Less than 48 hours after punching their EuroLeague playoffs ticket, Baskonia resumed its Spanish League obligations by defeating San Sebastian 72 – 84 on the road.
The Basques trailed by 10 at halftime (42 – 32) but overpowered their opponents with a 17 – 32 in the third quarter to assume control of the game. They increased their lead and faced no problems in the fourth period.
Matt Janning scored a team-high 16 points while Tornike Shengelia added 14 for Baskonia that improved to 18 – 7 and the second place in the standings. Jordan Swing’s 18 points plus Daniel Clark’s 16 plus 6 rebounds weren’t enough for the hosts that are 13th with 10 – 15.
