With a great fourth quarter, Valencia Basket recorded a 97-74 win against Tecnyconta Zaragoza on Day 28 of ACB League. After their third in a row victory, Valencia stayed in the run for the second place with a 19-9 record while Zaragoza is one step closer to the relegation zone with 9-19.
Bojan Dubljevic led the victors with 18 points while Erick Green and Aaron Doornekamp added 14 each. On the other side, Gary Neal scored a game-high 20 points.
The first half of the game was completely in Valencia’s control as they won both quarters to go on the break with a double-digit advantage (43-30). Three-point shooting was the main difference in first twenty minutes as Zaragoza scored only once from behind the arc (1/11) while the guests were far better with seven made shots (7/16).
After the halftime rest, however, the hosts ‘woke up’ a bit and led by Neal’s 13 points in the third period decreased the margin to five points. Unfortunately for them, Green extorted three free throws and gave Valencia a much-needed push which continued in the last ten minutes without an adequate answer from Zaragoza.
Meanwhile, Luka Doncic put up an all-around performance and led Real Madrid to a win against Fuenlabrada.
