Despite 28 points by Toko Shengelia who had a monster game with 10 rebounds and a 41 ranking, Baskonia suffered against Murcia. The Basques got the close 87-85 win after a controversial non-call in the last play with Clevin Hannah getting a last second contact by Matt Janning in a an attemp for a three-pointer.
Baskonia, however, prevailed and now has a 21-8 record and the second spot of the standings, while securing a spot in the playoffs. On the other hand Murcia proved more than dangerous and ready for the upcoming Basketball Champions League Final Four, while being eighth on the Spanish league with a 16-15 record.
Unicaja Malaga beat Bilbao with ease (93-78) and Nemanja Nedovic scoring 16 points. The losing side remains 17th in the league with a 8-22 record, while Unicaja is fifth (18-12).
The upset of Sunday’s early games was registered by Joventut (10-21) which prevailed over Valencia by two points (77-75). Despite 19 points by Erick Green, the guests couldn’t get the win and dropped to a 20-9 record and the fourth spot of the standings.
