Rodrigue Beaubois (13 p.) and Vincent Poirier (12 p.) led a balanced offensive effort on the way to a more than easy 80-64 win for Baskonia over Unicaja Malaga (2-0).
Baskonia started the game leading by 16 points at the end of the first quarter (27-11) and thanks to a 11-2 run at the start of the second build a 25 points advantage (38-13). Everything was easy after that for the guests.
The halftime score was 52-33 for Baskonia and despite a push from Unicaja to get back in the game, the third period ended with Baskonia up by 20 (68-48). The hosts tried to cut down the lead, but couldn’t really threaten Baskonia. Nemanja Nedovic with 14 points was the top scorer of Unicaja Malaga.
Baskonia will face in the semifinals of Liga Endesa the winner of the series between Barcelona and Andorra.
