Real Madrid defeated Iberostar Tenerife away from home 75-84 and won the Spanish League quarterfinal series 2-0.
At the start of the game, Tenerife was pressuring Madrid and was up by eight points (22-14), but that did not last long as Real went on a run and finished the first half by being up 12 points.
In the third period, Tenerife tried to come back and challenge Pablo Laso’s squad (46-53) but Madrid answered right back. Finally, in the fourth and final quarter, the hosts managed to cut the deficit to just five points (71-76) with two minutes remaining, but Madrid controlled the tempo of the game and came out on top.
Rudy Fernandez put up 19 points for the winners, while 19-year old potential No. 1 overall pick Luka Doncic finished with 12 points and eight rebounds. Sergio Llull added 10 points and seven assists.
For Tenerife, Mike Tobey finished with an impressive double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds.
