On the day of his 26th birthday, Kyle Wiltjer scored 17 out of his season-high 24 points ( plus four rebounds in 20:34 minutes) in the third quarter, leading Unicaja Malaga to a 96 – 87 victory over Baxi Manresa for Round 5 of the Spanish ACB regular season.
Thanks to Wiltjer’s efforts, Malaga dominated the third period 36 – 17 to bounce back after falling behind 42 -35 at halftime and then remained ahead for the remainder of the match. With this win, the Andalusian team improved its league record to 4 – 1 while Manresa dropped to 2-3.
Mathias Lessort had 15 points plus five rebounds for Malaga, Jaime Fernandez 15 points plus seven assists while Brian Roberts scored 13.
Ryan Toolson stood out from Manresa with 21 points.
