Tornike Shengelia was named the MVP for the month of October in Spanish League as he averaged a 19.8 index leading Baskonia to five wins out of six games.
The Georgian averaged 15.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and three assists during the month while playing no more than 22 minutes per game.
The 27-year-old ‘snatched’ the MVP honor from Thad McFadden who averaged 19.7 rating, Bojan Dubljevic and Jaime Fernandez who had 18.7 each. Dylan Ennis who recorded the value of 19 was not eligible to compete due to the rule that the contenders must win at least half of the games played.
“I am very happy to receive this award, it is an honor for me and I want to thank God, my colleagues and coaches for putting me in this situation”, Shengelia said.
