Barcelona saved the best for last against Real Madrid

In a tense game that was a pretty close affair for three quarters, Barcelona had an 18-5 run in the first seven minutes of the last period and decided the outcome.

The final score was 86-69 and the hosts made a huge step towards the top spot of the league standings in case of a tie.

Kyle Kuric with 16 points and a big three which made the score 81-64 with three minutes left was the hero of the game, while Chris Singleton and Adam Hanga added 12 points each for Barcelona. Playing without Sergio Llull, Real Madrid got 12 points by Jaycee Carroll.

Madrid managed to lead by nine in the second quarter (33-24), but by halftime, Barcelona had things under control and went to the locker rooms with a three-point advantage (39-36). The hosts finished the game with 50% shooting efficiency in threes (13/26) compared to 33% (9/27) by Real Madrid and they also got nine more rebounds (36-27).

After this result, Barcelona is left alone on top of the standings with a 9-1 record, while Real Madrid is tied with Baskonia and Unicaja Malaga at 8-2 in the second place of the Liga Endesa standings.
