Nicolas Laprovittola set a new season-high 28 points and dished out nine assists, propelling the efforts of Joventut Badalona in the 93 – 86 win over Unicaja Malaga in Round 11 of the Spanish ACB regular season, in a manner that was easier than what the final score shows.
Thanks to this result, Badalona climbed to 6-5 and caught up with Valencia (that defeated Andorra) at the 8th spot of the standings. Malaga is fourth with 8-3 after sustaining its first ACB defeat after three victories.
Kyle Wiltjer (20 points) and Jaime Fernandez (19 points, five assists) tried to pace a Malaga that fell behind 68 – 54 near the end of the third period and then 79 – 64 in the mid of the fourth. Badalona casually preserved a lead with its opponents being able to just cut it to single digits down the stretch.
