Real Madrid star Sergio Llull addressed the possibility of Real Madrid exiting the ACB due to the club’s discontent with the officiating in the finale of the Copa Del Rey Final plus what has transpired in the aftermath of the game.
“I personally don’t imagine an ACB without Madrid. But we are Real Madrid and we will comply with the decision the club takes,” Llull said on the matter, per AS.
Following the loss to Barcelona in the Cup Final, Real was reported to be examining a potential ACB exit, unless the league officially recognized the refereeing errors.
While ACB and the Association of Spanish referees released statements acknowledging the “serious mistakes” made in the last minutes of overtime, Real characterized the announcements as “shameful.”
“I subscribe to everything our coach had said. We must be professionals now. It’s been a very difficult and complicated week,” Llull added. “The images are there and everyone will have their opinion. What the club is working on is club business.”
