Two-time EuroCup champion Marko Popovic announced his retirement from professional basketball earlier this season, and today (26/5), he played his last game as Montakit Fuenlabrada won against Iberostar Tenerife after overtime. In no small part thanks to Popovic himself.
The 36-year-old scored 12 points, dished five assists and grabbed two rebounds in a bit less than 12 minutes of play but he was also the one to nail a clutch buzzer-beater from downtown. Popovic also made a free throw later on and secured the win for his team before the emotional farewell atmosphere from everybody in the gym.
