Sergio Llull stepped up for Real Madrid in crunch time and handed them a 76-71 road win against Iberostar Tenerife on Day 3 of the Spanish League.
Llull banked 19 points on 7-11 shooting (5-8 triples) including the two shots from deep in the last minute which decided the victor. Jordan Mickey added 11 points while Edy Tavares logged five points and ten rebounds.
For Tenerife, Giorgi Shermadini was the only double-digit scorer with game-high 20 points. Santiago Yusta and Kyle Singler helped with eight points each.
Real Madrid had an upper hand in the first quarter (18-11) and stayed ahead at halftime (38-34). Tenerife stayed close and eventually took the lead (43-41) staying ahead in front of the final period (54-52). They also held the 71-70 lead with 1:20 left but Llull pushed Madrid to the win.
