Zaragoza defeated Baskonia 101 – 80 in Round 15 of the Spanish ACB League regular season to improve to 12 – 3 and retain a foothold among the top 3 teams of the standings.
Baskonia suffered its second loss in a row in Spain and five consecutive defeat including its EuroLeague games. The Basque side was most recently beaten by Alba Berlin on the road, in Dusko Ivanovic’s return.
Dylan Ennis (19 points), Carlos Alocen (15 points), Nicolas Brussino (15 points) and Javier Justiz (11 points) compiled the winning quartet for Zaragoza.
Shavon Shields (28 points), Micheal Eric (14 points, eight rebounds) and Tornike Shengelia (12 points, seven rebounds) were the top performers from Baskonia. The visiting squad began the game by leading 20 – 14 in the first period, until Zaragoza turned the tables to go up 39 – 31 at halftime and then dominate for the remainder of the match.
