Giannis Antetokounmpo resides in Athens, Greece during the NBA offseason and in times of COVID-19 crisis he decided to give back to the community, away from flashing lights and media.
The two-time NBA MVP paired up with essential workers and volunteers along with his mother Veronica and his brothers to donate tens of boxes of food for those in need. The boxes were delivered to the Saint Meletios Church in the neighborhood of Sepolia, Giannis’ former residence.
Veronica Antetokounmpo shared footage of the food buying process on her Facebook page, that later circulated the Greek media.
However, the news spread also via Facebook after a post made by a local resident.
This is not the first time the Greek Freak has offered a helping hand to his community. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in Greece back in April, Giannis donated 20,000 masks to the municipality of his first team, Zografou, while he’s made significant donations to the Bucks‘ staff during the NBA suspension last spring.
A true MVP both on and off the court.
