Dwayne Bacon’s brother Raheem Bacon was killed in a shooting that happened in Lakeland, Florida, his family has confirmed according to multiple reports. Raheem Bacon, 25, a rap and hip-hop artist and father of two, was widely known as “350heem.”
The shooting occurred on Friday night during a “celebrity party” event that was hosted by Dwayne Bacon in Jade Fox Lounge of his native Lakeland to promote the release of Raheem Bacon’s latest mixtape. According to the police, officers responded to a disturbance in a parking lot outside the Lounge and found that Bacon and an unidentified 48-year-old woman had been shot. Bacon was taken to a local hospital and was declared to have died prior to his arrival. The woman was hospitalized with serious wounds.
So far there’s been an arrest of a 23-year-old woman named Jamilah Johnson while a gun that was reported to be stolen was found in the parking lot. No charges regarding the shooting have been made.
Like his brother Dwayne, Raheem Bacon also played varsity basketball. In 2021 he signed with the famous Motown Records, reportedly becoming the first artist from Lakeland to sign with a major music label.
Dwayne Bacon, a former NBAer, last played with Panathinaikos Athens in EuroLeague. He was previously a member of AS Monaco in 2021-22.
