Fethullah Gulen, the Turkish cleric whom President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey has accused of inspiring the coup attempt against his government, denied any involvement, however this does not change much for Enes Kanter.
Kanter, probably the most famous supporter of Gulen, who many times protested that he was left out of the Turkish national team due to his political beliefs is now a social media target for Erdogan’s supporters.
With the tension in Turkey’s political scene still rising, it’s safe to assume that Kanter, despite his basketball skills, will remain a polarizing figure in Tukey. As he claims on his twitter account, he even received death threats.
Son bir kaç gündür aldığım sadece bazı Ölüm Tehditleri.!
