With leagues shutting down almost everywhere in the world and action suspended indefinitely due to the measures taken to prevent COVID-19 from spreading further, teams are expected to face significant losses in revenue.
That’s the case for FC Bayern Munich, which is expected to lose more than 1 million euros, the total revenue of tickets for all of its initially scheduled homecourt games until April 19.
Bayern GM Marko Pesic spoke to Sport1-Doppelpass about the significant economic effects of shutting down. “By April 19, we would have eight home games. If you calculate revenues in the range of 140,000 to 150,000 euros per game, you are quickly in the seven-digit range”, he mentioned.
