The German League announced that easyCredit BBL action will resume and conclude its 2019-20 season in Munich if health safety for all involved is achieved. The other cities in the running were Bonn, Frankfurt, and Berlin.
The top-division clubs previously agreed to conclude the 2019-20 season with ten teams provided health authorities allow games to be played.
The plan is for ten top-tier teams to compete in a single location, the Audi Dome, home of FC Bayern Munich. The remaining step is the approval of the health authorities to move forward with the end of the 2019-20 season.
Apart from Bayern, MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg, HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim, ALBA Berlin, EWE Baskets Oldenburg, RASTA Vechta, Brose Bamberg, BG Göttingen, ratiopharm Ulm and Fraport Skyliners will take part in the tournament.
The participating sides will be split into two groups of five teams each. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals will follow.
