Bayern Munich is signing Turkish-German guard Ismet Akpinar for German League’s 10-team tournament, per Robert Heusel of BIG magazine. The player will be acquired due to the persistent injury of guard Nihad Djedovic.
Akpinar, 25, averaged 8.0 points, 2.1 assists and 1.6 rebounds in the 2019-2020 Basketball Champions League with Besiktas. He had 10.9 points, 2.3 assists and 1.75 rebounds in the Turkish BSL League prior to the season’s cancelation.
Before joining Besiktas, Akpinar had played in Germany for such teams as Alba Berlin and Ratiopharm Ulm.
