The 97 – 89 win of Alba Berlin over MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg concluded the first stage of the German easyCredit BBL League’s 10-team tournament. Thanks to this result, the “Albatrosses” grabbed first place in Group B and avoided a quarterfinals clash with defending champion Bayern Munich that finished third in Group A.
Alba forward Luke Sikma came one rebound shy of the triple-double by posting 15 points, 10 assists and nine boards in just 26:28 minutes. Marcus Eriksson dropped 15 points on 5/7 triples to help Alba get the victory.
Thomas Wimbush scored a game-high 30 points for Ludwigsburg that was left with the second place.
