ALBA Berlin overcame feisty Giessen 46ers to grab a 92-82 victory in Round 12 of the German League. Despite still missing coach Aito Garcia Reneses who remains in quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19, ALBA extended its winning streak in Germany to three games and improved to a 7-1 record.
Simone Fontecchio led the home team with 18 points, Johanness Thiemann posted 11 points and 7 rebounds. Maodo Lo also had 11 points while Jayson Granger posted 10 points and 9 assists along with 4 steals. Scottie James paced Giessen (2-10) with a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds.
Paul Zipser (13 points) saved FC Bayern Munich (8-2) against visiting Chemnitz (3-8), leading his team to a 77-76 win. Nick Weiler-Babb led all Bayern scorers with a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds and Jalen Reynolds added 12 points and 8 rebounds. On the other end of the court, Jan Niklas Wimberg tapped 16 points for Chemnitz.
