Vechta fought hard to avoid relegation though their efforts fell short in the end as ALBA Berlin prevailed over with an 82-81 victory in Round 31 of the German League.
Tim Schneider paced the efforts of ALBA (25-6) with a new season-high of 18 points, three rebounds, Niels Giffey followed with 14 points, Peyton Siva had 11 while Ben Lammers and Jayson Granger each posted 10 points.
Robin Christen had 23 points and 9 rebounds to lead Vechta and Edgar Sosa added 19, though the hosts couldn’t outlast the race despite a 23-19 run in the fourth period.
