Troy Caupain led the way but ratiopharm Ulm put an impressive all-around performance as the team beat Bayern Munich with 98-64 on the scoreboard.
Caupain banked in 25 points while Demetrius Conger and Dylan Osetkowski scored 14 each. Andreas Obst followed up with ten points.
For Bayern – which didn’t have a number of their star players including Wade Baldwin, Vladimir Lucic, and Jalen Reynolds – Robin Amaize scored 15 and Leon Radosevic 11 points.
Ulm had their way on offense, shooting over 61% from the field and made a total of 13 three-pointers, from 24 attempts. “Offense comes from defense” could be perfectly applied to this matchup as Ulm forced as much as 26 turnovers from Bayern, of which 13 were clean steals.
MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg leads the German League standings with a 29-4 record followed by Alba Berlin with 27-6 and Bayern with 24-9. EWE Baskets Oldenburg is right behind with 23-9 while Crailsheim Merlins have 23-10 and Ulm 22-11 records.
