German League defending champion Alba Berlin became the first team to advance to the 2021 semifinals by beating Hamburg Towers 85 – 73 and sweeping the quarterfinal series. The “Albatrosses” stormed into the game to take a 30 – 16 lead and never looked back.
Maodo Lo scored 14 points and dished out five assists while Simone Fontecchio also had 14 points. Niels Giffey dropped 11 points, Peyton Siva posted 10 points plus six assists and Marcus Eriksson scored 10.
Maik Kotsar (17 points, nine rebounds), Zac Cuthbertson (17 points, eight rebounds) and Jordan Swing (14 points) scored in double figures from Hamburg.
