FC Bayern Munich sealed their EuroLeague playoffs ticket less than 24 hours before heading to Oldenburg to face EWE Baskets. Coach Trinchieri used a shorter rotation with Bayern youngsters Aleksa Vucetic, Luis Wulff, and Mohamed Sillah featured in the squad, as the main stars took a rest day ahead of Monday’s game against Fenerbahce on the road.
The club’s packed schedule (which stretches up to April 8 with three back-to-back EuroLeague contests) resulted in a 106-75 defeat on the road, to tie MHP Riesen for second place (19-7) in the German BBL.
Max Heidegger was the hero of the night for Oldenburg and stepped up with a game-high 31 points. Rickey Paulding added 20 points and T.J. Holyfield followed with 12 points.
Jason George led Bayern with 20 points and four assists, Joshua Obiesie had 18 points and Andreas Obst picked up 15 points.
