Maodo Lo scored 20 points to lift ALBA Berlin to a 92-86 victory against Gottingen on the road. ALBA extended its winning streak to five games in the German BBL and improved to a 21-6 record in the standings.
The visitors snapped back from a nine-point deficit at halftime and used a 21-12 run in the fourth quarter to keep their hot streak alive and remain third in the BBL. Besides Lo, Jaleen Smith tapped 16 points and five rebounds for ALBA, Tamir Blatt added 12 points and Johannes Thiemann had 10 points.
Gottingen’s Stephen Brown and Jeremiah Martin combined for 47 points (24 and 23 respectively), though the team suffered its second defeat in a row to drop to 16-14.
Earlier this weekend, Bayern grabbed a 77-58 victory over MHP Riesen on the road to make a push for the top of the standings (22-7). Ognjen Jaramaz led all scorers with 14 points, Darrun Hilliard followed with 12 points and five rebounds and Nihad Djedovic added 10 points. Bayern won its third in a row in the BBL ahead of Game 1 of their EuroLeague playoffs series against Barcelona this upcoming Tuesday (April 19, 21:00 CET).
