ALBA Berlin shut down MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg 73 – 67 on the road to sweep the German League semifinal series 3-0 and become the first team to advance to the Finals. The Albatrosses, that stay undefeated in the playoffs, were the superior force after the break after a balanced (37-35) first half.
Ben Lammers had 11 points plus seven rebounds and Tamir Blatt scored 11 for ALBA that put on some excellent defensive effort in the third period to take a 49 – 60 lead. Ludwigsburg tried to come back but never approached by a shooting distance for the rest of the match.
Justin Simon finished with 16 points and veteran wing Tremmel Darden scored 13 for Ludwigsburg.
