Even without Jaleen Smith, Maodo Lo, Johannes Thiemann, and the still-injured duo of Marcus Eriksson and Ben Lammers, ALBA managed to edge Bonn and get the 98-95 win in the knockout game for the Round of 16 of the German Cup.
It was a very tough contest with Tamir Blatt and Yanni Wetzell scoring 23 points each, while Jonas Mattisseck sealed the deal with crucial free throws. For the losing side, T.J. Shorts had one more night to remember with 36 points.
On the contrary, things were easy for Bayern which got the 85-68 road win against the once mighty Brose Bamberg. Corey Walden with 20 points led the charge.
