Bayern wins in Rostock, ALBA loses at Bamberg

Between back-to-back two-game weeks in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, FC Bayern Munich and ALBA Berlin competing at the domestic level produced opposite results on Sunday.

The team coached by Pablo Laso led in double-digits most of the way but settled for a 91-85 victory versus Rostock Seawolves in Round 15 of Germany’s easyCredit BBL Regular Season. Fueling a sixth consecutive domestic win, Devin Booker and Carsen Edwards shared a team-high 14 points. Vladimir Lucic and Serge Ibaka were rested. For the hosts, Tyler Nelson registered a game-high 17 points.

The Albatrosse lost, 97-77, to Bamberg Baskets. Sterling Brown had 21 points in the losing effort. Marcus Eriksson (foot), Ziga Samar (foot), and Louis Olinde (illness) remained sidelined. Zach Copeland packed a game-high 24 points and rookie forward Adrian Nelson following with 18 points pushed the home side to 6-9.

The Munich outfit went up to 10-3 and the Berlin team fell to 8-4. Leading Niners Chemnitz jumped to 13-2 and defending champion ratiopharm Ulm improved to 12-3 on Saturday.
